She has won Plein Air Magazine’s Plein Air Salon competition multiple times, been featured in and written for in Pastel Journal, Artists Magazine and holds the distinction of Master Pastelist in the Pastel Society of America. Jaenicke is a renowned artist, known for her light-filled landscapes and painterly, impressionist style. Of the Moment will be juried by Barbara Jaenicke.
Whether painting in plein air or alla prima, we want to see work that expresses the spontaneity and immediacy of documenting the ever-changing world. For the Plein Air and Alla Prima Showcase, we’re looking for works that characterize these techniques and capture the fleeting moment. Most often completed in a single sitting, these works feature lively and impressionistic views, bold gestures, and impromptu mark-making. Plein Air painting and Alla Prima painting capture the essence of a scene, the attitude of a landscape, or the character of a moment.
